At Urban Upbound, we help youth and adults gain and retain meaningful employment in high-growth sectors through job readiness training and one-on-one counseling.

Adult Employment Services

Every year, 2,000 individuals benefit from Urban Upbound’s Employment Service programs. Aligned with the City’s Jobs-Plus framework, we focus on creating long-term career ladders through sector-focused job readiness preparation (resume assistance, interview practice), vocational training, and one-on-one career and educational counseling services including facilitated job placement services, job retention and career advancement support for 12 months after securing employment, and on-going referrals to a host of coordinated partners for services such as income supports, child care, adult basic education classes, and transportation accommodation. Moreover, we provide college and career access services to high school age youth, including year-round mentoring, SAT and college preparation, financial aid counseling, career readiness, and placement into summer internships.

Youth Employment Services

Every year, 3,000 individuals benefit from Urban Upbound’s Youth Career Pathways program, which consists of YouthPathways, Exploration in Careers, and College Access. Aligned with the City’s Career Pathways framework, YouthPathways and Exploration in Careers provides unemployed, underemployed, and out-of-school youth ages 18-24 with training, tools, and resources that help them enter NYC’s fastest growing sectors of Construction, Hospitality, Technology, and Retail. College Access provides college and career preparatory services to high school age youth, including year-round mentoring, SAT and college preparation, financial aid counseling, career readiness, and placement into summer internships.
